HG Aniruddha Dasa

Aniruddha first met the devotees at the Frome St. temple in 1978. He was looking for a higher purpose in life which culminated in becoming a vegetarian and later meeting the devotees. He was attracted by the regular hari-nāma parties in the city, mahā-prasādam and hearing Kṛṣṇa conscious philosophy from the devotees. After a couple of months associating with the devotees in Adelaide he and his wife Acintya Rūpa joined ISKCON Melbourne in September 1978.

After joining he was engaged in a variety of services which included brick laying and construction work, street book distribution and fund raising which included selling paraphernalia, full sets, life membership and direct mail. In 1983 he worked on Full Set book distribution and Life Membership whilst assisting the Temple President as correspondence secretary and other administration duties.

In 1989 he became Vice President and Temple President in 1990. He was also appointed Secretary of ISKCON Australia at that time. Both duties he continues today. He is the Regional Secretary for Adelaide and Perth Temples. In 1997 he became a member of the newly formed GBC Deputies and was their Secretary for fifteen years. He is a current member of the GBC Organisational Development and GBC Nominations committees.

Aniruddha and Acintya Rūpa received first initiation in December 1978. They received second initiation in June 1979. He likes to study Śrīla Prabhupāda’s books and listen to his lectures. Aniruddha attended the VIHE January semester in 1987. He completed his Bhakti-sastri in 1993.

He taught Bhakti-sastri in Melbourne.  He teaches the ISKCON Disciple Course. He has completed the course more than twenty times in Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia and India. He teaches the ISKCON Teacher Training courses. He taught the Nectar of Instruction at the VIHE Bhakti Śāstrī Course in 2016.
